| SLED Usage Statistics Number of SLED pages accessed: These statistics show which SLED pages are the most popular. We track how many times an individual SLED page (such as http://sled.alaska.edu/arts.html) was viewed during a month. We don't keep track of how many times the sites to which we link are viewed by SLED users. Top-Level Domains, or where users are coming from: These statistics show what type of domain a user is accessing SLED from. For example, if the computer you are accessing SLED through is part of a school network, you are probably on an .edu domain. A web address is made up of domain names. Top-level domains make up the .edu, .com, .gov, .mil, .net, .org part of a web address. Countries also have top level domain names such as .ca for Canada, .us for the United States or .uk for the United Kingdom. For a list of country codes, go to the ISO 3166 Maintenance Agency page. In November 2000 ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers approved seven new top-level domain names. These are:

Zip Code Surveys - statistics available for 2000-2001 These statistics show the number of calls made through the Alaska Net connection to SLED. Alaska Net was a free dial-in connection to the Internet available in certain communities throughout Alaska. This connection used a text-based browser to access the Internet.
